Group 2's work has resulted in a mobile app that provides services for those using SEPTA. Through our work, we were able to form an idea, design prototypes, gather feedback and build a final prototype.
Our research showed that SEPTA riders want easy access to scheduling information at a moment's notice, or they're willing to go without it at all. Riders would also like improved communication and real time service status updates. Our research also revealed that mobile access was necessary for our idea.
From analyzing our survey results and anticipated user groups, we developed concepts that we wanted to explore in our prototypes: geo-location, saving routes and catering to the novice SEPTA user. Each of our prototypes explored one of the ideas in depth. This provided the opportunity to iron out kinks with idea and see how it rendered in reality.
After gathering feedback, Group 2 decided to combine the ideas explored in Phase II into the final prototype.Group 2's final design prototype represents an amalgamation of the three designs explored during Phase II. After considering the feedback provided from our peers, the final feature set was chosen to ensure that each identified user group could benefit from the app's services.
Through our work Group 2 has been able to produce a working prototype that has the potential to positively effect the millions of SEPTA users. Our app provides information and access in mobile form - a service that had not previously been available.
